A rewarding opportunity is available for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide dedicated one-on-one care for a student in a school setting. This contract position is located in the Aurora, IL area, with occasional duties in St. Charles, IL. The role focuses on delivering specialized nursing support to a student with Down Syndrome, ensuring their health and well-being throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one nursing care, including approximately eight G-tube feedings daily.
- Monitor blood glucose levels using the Blue Loop system.
- Administer insulin and perform carbohydrate counting for effective diabetic management.
- Collaborate with school staff to maintain a safe and supportive environment for the student.
- Maintain accurate and detailed health records in compliance with school policies and health regulations.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Current and valid LPN/LVN license.
- Experience in pediatric nursing or school nursing preferred.
- Knowledge and skill in G-tube feeding procedures.
- Proficiency in diabetic care, including blood glucose monitoring and insulin administration.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students, families, and school personnel.
- Compassionate, attentive, and detail-oriented approach to nursing care.

- Primarily based in Aurora, IL, with some responsibilities in St. Charles, IL.
