Responsibilities

Texoma Medical Center, a 414-bed acute care facility has been providing quality health care to the residents of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma since 1965. Our main campus is located in Denison, Texas, approximately one hour north of the Dallas/Fort Worth area and just south of the Texas/Oklahoma border. In addition, we have numerous facilities in locations throughout the Texoma region. Since 1965, TMC has forged a special relationship with the people of North Texas and Southern Oklahoma. The basic purpose of nursing is to provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Additionally, nursing will provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. The Standards of Practice set forth by the professional nursing associations will provide guidelines for the competent, safe and professional practice.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Requirements:

Per nursing licensure, associate’s degree in nursing; bachelor’s degree preferred.
One (1) year of nursing experience required. Psychiatric/chemical dependency experience preferred.
Current RN license in the state of Texas. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider course to be completed prior to working in a clinical setting and every 90 days. Handle with Care and Verbal De-Escalation training must be completed within 60 days of new hire orientation and annually prior to working in a clinical setting. Additional training to be completed with respective timeline.
Knowledge of Psychiatric/Chemical Dependency Treatment in the State of Texas must be able to identify and address the special needs of adolescent, adult, geriatric patients, must also be able to communicate effectively with the patient, family, or additional resources involved in referral. Practices teamwork.
