Position Summary:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides high-level, patient-centered care within a physician office setting. This role supports healthcare providers by assisting with clinical procedures, delivering direct patient care, and ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. The LPN plays a key role in maintaining clinical operations, supporting patient education, and contributing to a collaborative care environment.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Measure and record patient vital signs accurately
- Room patients and prepare them for exams and procedures
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
- Provide patient support and comfort during visits
- Administer medications as directed
- Process patient phone calls in accordance with practice protocols
- Educate patients on healthcare plans, treatments, and follow-up care
- Communicate patient health status updates to providers
- Maintain and monitor medical supply inventory
- Stock and organize exam rooms
- Float to other practice locations as needed to support staffing needs
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) eligible to practice in the State of Florida
- One (1) year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred
- Strong initiative with the ability to multitask effectively
- Excellent patient/customer service skills
- Clear verbal communication skills
- Strong teamwork and problem-solving abilities
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Current LPN license eligible for practice in the State of Florida (Florida participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross required within 90 days of hire
