Job Summary

  • Performs duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
  • Contributes to the development of a plan of care and follows through with such plan for selected patients.
  • Administers medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy.
  • Maintains the exam rooms and work environment.
  • Documents nursing care and activities.
  • Assists with patient care and monitors patients during procedures.
  • Assists with the training of other staff.
  • Assists departmental assistant with clinical matters.

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse.

Experience

  • Prefer at least 1-2 year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care. Experience in office clerical activities desirable.

(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience)

 

Licensure/Certification

  • Current LPN license from the State of Oklahoma or active Multistate LPN license is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment.

Compensation/Benefits

  • $18.80-$30.71/hr depending on previous work experience.
