In addition to the base salary, this position may receive additional compensation based on productivity and extra shift incentives as applicable.
Summary
Provides primary appropriate specialized outpatient Spine Health Care Services. Performs examinations and provides treatment to minor/routine problems; performs or orders diagnostic tests; establishes diagnosis; prescribes medication; instructs patients and family members about continuing care.
Position Reports To: Practice Manager
Essential Functions
- Provides specialty outpatient spine care by evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with back and spine conditions. Conducts comprehensive, problem focused histories and physical examinations for new patients with acute and chronic spine disorders. Develops and implements treatment plans, orders and interprets diagnostic studies, and manages non operative spine care within scope of practice. Identifies conditions requiring escalation and refers to or collaborates with spine surgeons or physicians as appropriate.
- Formulates a differential diagnosis and establishes a working diagnosis. Orders laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develops a treatment plan for spinal conditions within the scope of practice and in conjunction with the Physiatrist. Refers patients to specialty services when appropriate.
- Writes prescriptions and perform procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
- Maintains accurate and complete patient records in compliance with organizational policy.
- Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
- Writes prescriptions and performs office procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment.
- Educates patients and families on spine conditions, treatment options, recovery expectations, and self management strategies, addressing both physical and emotional aspects of care. Actively supports health promotion by reinforcing injury prevention, ergonomics, lifestyle modifications, and adherence to treatment plans related to spine health.
- Refers patients to specialty services when appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required:
- Active Registered Nurse and ARNP licensure with prescriptive authority in the state of Washington, by start date.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
