As a Registered Nurse (RN), Hospice, the work performed each day makes a meaningful impact on the lives of patients and families. Our nurses provide the greatest gift—helping patients spend more quality time with loved ones in the comfort of their preferred environment.
In this role, you will provide one‑on‑one patient care and work at the top of your license. You’ll use your clinical expertise to deliver compassionate end‑of‑life care as directed by an attending physician. You will also serve as a key member of an interdisciplinary team focused on delivering exceptional quality care.

HOW YOU'LL WORK
You will oversee the patient’s care from admission through end of life. Responsibilities include monitoring the patient’s condition and ensuring the level of care provided meets their needs. This role requires autonomy and accountability within the full RN scope of practice as defined by the state.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Plan of Care
- Assess the patient’s condition and evaluate treatment in alignment with the plan of care.
- Individualize the care plan and adjust as needs evolve.
Minimize Patient Risk
- Update physician orders in the patient chart.
- Administer medication as prescribed.
Continuity of Care
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care as needed.
- Support appropriate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Family Educator/Advocate
- Educate patients and families on disease progression.
- Include the patient and family in care planning.
- Actively listen to concerns and questions.
Policies
- Complete documentation according to agency protocols and Medicare/Federal guidelines.
Operations
- Oversee and supervise care provided by nurse aides and LPNs.
- Participate in in‑service training and mandatory agency meetings.
HARD & SOFT SKILLS
- Strong, compassionate communicator with a positive approach
- Able to maintain patience while working with patients, families, physicians, and team members
- Detail‑oriented with strong observational and follow‑through skills
REQUIREMENTS
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of employment
- Minimum of one year RN experience in an acute care setting preferred
- Hospice experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance in your name
- Ability to meet all physical demands of the role
