Registered Nurse (RN) Part-time

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Cherokee Mental Health Institute (CMHI) is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team! This is a part-time opportunity with a 28 hours/week schedule, a possible shift differential of $0.90 per hour for second shift and $1.00 per hour for third shift, plus strong opportunity for growth and development.

At CMHI, our team of RNs provides active inpatient treatment to adults in need of acute psychiatric care. While utilizing the Nursing process to provide that care, the RN in this position will also direct services provided by Licensed Practical Nurses, Resident Treatment Technicians, and Resident Treatment Workers. The successful candidate will carry out prescribed treatments, document care provided, and participate with the Treatment Team in planning and carrying out the Treatment Plan Interventions while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment for our patients.

CMHI provides active inpatient treatment to adults in need of acute psychiatric care. The facility offers several services includingindividualized treatment plans. Support for patients with special education needs to continue their education is provided, and individuals are encouraged to collaborate with staff members in formulating their own plan.
