Breast Center (ELCCC)Job Objective:
Produces high quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams, dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) exams; educates patients regarding scheduled exam and accurately documents completed exams in Electronic Health Record (EHR) and imaging reporting system. Assists radiologist with breast ultrasound biopsies, stereotactic biopsies and breast localizations; performs high quality breast ultrasound exams under limited supervision and documents and reports accurate findings to the radiologist.Job Description:
Education: Required: Graduate of a Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) approved School of Radiologic Technology Licensure/Certification: Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiology (R) and Mammography (M); American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Breast Sonography (BS) or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Breast (BR); California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) Mammography license; American Heart Association BLS Experience: Required: Two (2) years of experience as a Mammography Technologist II or two (2) years of experience as a licensed Breast SonographerReports To: Breast Center Director Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients (as assigned): Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: Moderate PotentialSkills, Knowledge, Abilities:

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Interacts compassionately and effectively with patients providing a Five Star experience by reducing anxieties; provides explanations of procedures and equipment, and answers questions 3. Trains Mammography Technologists in Breast Ultrasound and in the areas of DEXA and Mammography. 4. Assists radiologist and nurses in procedures, to include: Breast localizations, Stereotactic Biopsy, Ultrasound Guided Core Biopsy, Contrast-enhanced spectral mammography (CESM) and Dutograms, as needed: timeout, holding pressure over biopsy site, explain post procedure instructions, apply pressure dressing over biopsy site. 5. Performs bone density screening as assigned. 6. Presents exams to radiologists using the appropriate medical terminology. 7. Changes exams in EPIC as requested by the radiologist; obtains new order, if needed. 8. Completes all required billing and documentation accurately and timely in EHR and PACS systems. 9. Completes Quality Control/Quality Assurance daily, weekly, and Monthly for mammography equipment, DEXA equipment, biopsy equipment and Ultrasound equipment. 10. Escorts patient from sub-wait area to procedure room. 11. Explains procedure to patient prior to beginning exam. 12. Obtains appropriate medical history required (patient and family) before procedure is started. 13. Explains comparative film review and obtains patient film release signature, as appropriate. 14. Maintains cleanliness of all radiology equipment and rooms. 15. Maintains current and adequate CEUs per Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and state regulatory requirements and remains proficient in using diagnostic equipment. 16. Follows department timekeeping procedures; obtains prior authorization for any overtime. 17. Works at main campus and satellite facilities. 18. Performs other duties as assigned.Related Jobs
