The principal objective of the Nurse Manager position is to provide professional support, advice and supervision for the Occupational Health Services staff. The role facilitates and assures clinical practice, professional and educational development; and training of staff to ensure safe, effective, person-centered practice and care.

This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining Occupational Health programs, policies and procedures for a facility; supervising a group of nursing and support personnel; supervising and evaluating nursing care provided to workers; monitoring nursing functions to ensure nursing staff adheres to correct nursing procedures within scope of practice; attending facility management meetings to provide occupational health related updates; conducting annual nurse performance evaluations, interviewing and hiring qualified nursing staff and ensure adequate staffing is provided on each shift; managing workers’ compensation cases and ensuring records and reporting systems comply with OSHA, State, company and legal requirements; adhering to the highest standard of confidentiality; participating in facility safety and ergonomic programs; developing and coordinating health education programs for Team Members; and other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Current unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse is required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

 

Experience: 2+ years’ management experience and knowledge of occupational health nursing or relevant nursing field preferred.

 

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills. Ability to work with an electronic medical documentation system.

 

Physical Requirements: Physical requirements include walking through the plant to ensure team member and supervisor compliance with prescribed modified restricted duty requirements. Assessing a Team Member in a swift manner and performing CPR if needed.

Other Skills: Excellent verbal and written communications skills and independent decision making and problem-solving skills

Travel: 1 - 3 domestic trips per year.
