This contract position offers an opportunity for a licensed Registered Nurse to provide dedicated, onsite medical support to a medically fragile student in a school setting in Elk River, MN. The role involves working 38 hours per week, delivering specialized nursing care tailored to a student with complex health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 nursing care to a student requiring tracheostomy care and ventilation support.
  • Manage continuous G-J tube feedings and perform ostomy care and changes as needed.
  • Administer nasally delivered medications for seizure management and monitor adrenal insufficiency.
  • Operate and maintain respiratory equipment including nebulizers and oxygen tanks.
  • Facilitate mobility and safety measures for a wheelchair-bound student.
  • Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive medical and educational support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Proven experience in tracheostomy care; pediatric nursing experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex medical equipment and respond to emergency health situations.
  • Strong communication and documentation skills within a school healthcare environment.
