Responsibilities

  • Performs patient assessments and collaborates with the care team to develop and implement a plan of care.
  • Makes referrals to other hospice care disciplines as needed or documents rationale for not doing so.
  • Develops, prepares, and maintains individualized patient care progress records with accuracy, timeliness and according to care center policies.
  • Records pain/symptom management changes/outcomes as appropriate.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers appropriate patient care techniques.
  • Regularly communicates with clinical manager and care team.
  • Performs on-call responsibilities and on-call services to patients/families as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • One year of nursing experience.
  • Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation and liability insurance.

The Resource RN remains in good standing with Huntsville Hospital in accordance to set standards of maintaining an overall above average score on annual evaluations. Ability to teach and instruct as well as actively performs scrub techniques appropriate for various procedures. Monitoring skills require multi level documentation, recognition, interpretation with knowledge to treat patient accordingly. Proficient in operation and troubleshooting computer. Supports team members before, during, and following procedures to assure optimal patient care. Serves as a resource to staff regarding hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assists the department manager with clinical and supervisory aspects of the department as well as with annual competencies including but not limited to: 12 lead class and basic EKG class. Meets deadlines in collecting and reporting data. Registry may define responsibilities that are specific to each registry, but does not limit activities under direct physician supervision. Education: High School diploma/GED. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing License, certification and/or registration : Current Alabama nursing license.
