Baylor Scott & White Health – Waxahachie is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med Surg/Telemetry team on the night shift. This full‑time role (36 hours/week) offers the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population within a supportive, collaborative, and team‑oriented environment.

Our 25‑bed Med Surg/Tele unit is known for outstanding teamwork, strong relationships with our surgical partners, and a commitment to delivering safe, high‑quality care. Shift & Schedule

  • Full‑Time (36 hours/week)
  • Night Shift: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
  • Self‑scheduling model
  • No call requirement 

Unit Details

  • 25‑bed Med Surg/Telemetry unit
  • 1:5 RN‑to‑patient ratio

What You’ll Do

  • Provide safe, quality nursing care to Med Surg/Telemetry patients

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license (Texas or compact license)
  • Prior hospital experience

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Two or more years of nursing experience
  • Prior post‑surgical or orthopedic experience
  • Oncology experience (optional)
    • Opportunity available to be checked off for inpatient chemotherapy administration (not required)

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse, oversee patient care using a professional practice model. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.
