Position Summary:

Provides direct patient care to the adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient population under the direction of a Registered Nurse.Utilizes the nursing process while demonstrating behaviors that support McLaren Port Huron’s Values.Functions within a Team setting.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Supports the mission and vision of McLaren Port Huron through behaviors that reflect and integrate our values, as evidenced by observation, peer and customer feedback.
  • Contributes to the assessment of the patient’s physical and psychological needs and strengths in a comprehensive manner.
  • Contributes to the individualized nursing care plan of patients.
  • Contributes to the implementation of the patient’s plan of care.
  • Contributes to the evaluation of the adult and geriatric patient’s plan of care.
  • Contributes to the management and efficient operation of the nursing unit.
  • Demonstrates commitment to personal career growth and competency.
  • Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse program
  • Current Michigan license for a Practical Nurse
  • BLS and Canadian Equivalent

Preferred:
  • One (1) year of experience in general LPN experience or hospital experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Nursing skills as defined in the laws governing the practice of licensed practical nursing in the state of Michigan.
