The RN provides professional nursing care to patients receiving diagnostic or therapeutic services across various healthcare settings. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care, ensuring safety, comfort, and support throughout the patient's treatment journey. While critical care experience is a strong asset, candidates with solid medical-surgical backgrounds and strong critical thinking skills are also well-suited for success in this position. 

A caregiver in this position works 4-10s| 7:00am—5:00pm| weekend, holiday, and on-call rotation. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.  

• Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.  

• Perform telephone triage and call rotations.  

• Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications. 

• Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.  

• Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.  

• Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.  

• Educate patients and families.  

• Cover other nursing roles in the department.  

 
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program) 

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse 

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross  

• *In areas performing moderate sedation procedures, must have Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within six months of employment 

• *If in an ED, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire or within one year of beginning work in the Emergency Department. 

• One year of recent experience as an RN 

• Offset:  Licensed RN with at least 2 years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department may substitute for required RN experience 

 
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

• Two years of recent RN experience 

• Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)   

• *For Cardiac Catheterization or other related procedural areas, one year of critical care experience in a hospital setting preferred 

• *In areas operating with Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC Lines), Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) or Vascular Access Board Certified (VA-BC) certification is preferred within three years of hire
