Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in Tacoma, WA

A part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is available to support students across K-12 schools in Tacoma, Washington, and surrounding areas including Lakewood and Tumwater. This role is designed for a skilled LPN comfortable managing various nursing responsibilities within a school setting, including potential tracheostomy care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to students across multiple schools, floating between sites 2 to 3 days per week.
  • Deliver direct medical support such as administering treatments, monitoring student health, and managing emergency responses.
  • Collaborate with school staff to ensure student health needs are met during school hours.
  • Participate in before- and after-school activities as optional opportunities to increase work hours.
  • Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with school personnel and families.
  • Adhere to all school safety and confidentiality regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Active LPN license in Washington State.
  • Experience working as an LPN in a school or similar healthcare environment.
  • Proficiency in a range of nursing skills, including trach care.
  • Ability to independently manage nursing responsibilities without direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Position Details:

  • Part-time, 2 to 3 days weekly with variable hours.
  • Float position covering multiple schools within the district.
  • In-person role requiring fingerprint clearance prior to employment.
  • Immediate start with contract through the end of the school year.
