Where You Will Work:

The Cardiac Stress Lab supports the evaluation of a patient’s heart performance under physical or chemical stress.  Our unit is staffed with 4 RN’s and offer a great team orientated culture, working closely with providers to support the patients needs.  Monday-Friday 0730-1600, with staff working 8-hour shifts.  Positions will rotate weekend call, and some holidays for staffing/call.  (holiday dependent).   Typical functions of the RN’s include, Patient Assessment/Preparation, such as obtaining patient history, review medications, assess contradictions, prepare patients for cardiac stress testing procedures; Monitoring ECG rhythms, blood pressure, symptoms and patient tolerance during treadmill or pharmacologic stress tests to ensure patient safety; Medication administration and IV starts, administer pharmacologic stress test medication such as Dobutamine, Atropine and Metoprolol; Patient education on stress test and monitor them during the active and recovery phase;  Collaborating with Cardiologists, NP's, PA's, nuclear medicine and echo for stress tests to ensure appropriate testing and quality care. Chart prepping and patient teaching for upcoming stress tests and will also assist with EKGs for inpatients.

We’re Looking For:

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing

  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association or within 6 months.

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or within 6 months.

  • 2 years of experience in stress lab or cardiac related department strongly preferred.

  • We are looking for candidates with a genuine interest in heart/cardiac.
