As a Wound Nurse at Apple Valley Health Care Center, you will perform wound assessments and management for our residents and be a resource for staff. Our ideal candidate has previous supervisory/ leadership experience, excellent communication skills, and strong problem-solving skills. You will receive support from a weekly rounding wound physician provider team.

Position Type: Full-Time, benefit eligible position, working business hours including every 12th weekend and Holiday rotation. The hours are flexible!

Wage Range: $38 to $48 / hour depending on experience.

RN Wound Nurse Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate wound care plans for residents.
Become a resource to staff, nurse practitioners, physicians, residents, and families.
Document wounds and measurements; Update physician on progress and obtain new treatment orders if needed.
Audit nurses during dressing changes to assure proper technique.
Notify Clinical Manager, attending physicians, and family members of significant changes in a resident's condition, and take follow up action as necessary.
Perform additional duties as required.

RN Wound Nurse Qualifications:

Must have a current Minnesota Registered Nurse license and be in good standing.
Must have a background in wound care.
WOCN or WCC certified preferred, or willingness to receive within 6 months of hire.
Supervisory/leadership experience preferred.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of staging of wounds.
Self-starter with a desire to be a part of a team.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and strong problem-solving skills.
