This full-time position is for a 1:1 Registered Nurse providing specialized care to a medically fragile pediatric student in a school-based, non-clinical setting located in the Joliet, IL area. The nurse will support the student throughout the school day and accompany them on the morning bus route, which involves a brief 510 minute commute. Additionally, the nurse will assist with classroom academics as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive pediatric nursing care including ventilator management and trach care.
Monitor and troubleshoot ventilator settings, alarms, suctioning, and bagging procedures.
Provide emergency response support and manage equipment connections.
Administer gastrostomy tube feedings using an enteral pump, including feed preparation and water flushes.
Perform student positioning, transfers, incontinence management, and skin integrity checks.
Assist with donning and doffing ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs).
Support classroom academics in coordination with educational staff.

Qualifications:

Active, state-issued Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsements issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE).
Proven proficiency in pediatric ventilator care, trach management, and emergency procedures.
Experience working in a school setting or with medically fragile pediatric populations is preferred.
Ability to work full-time with reliable attendance.
Must be able to physically accompany the student on the bus.
