Position Summary
Staff Nurse I is accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model asCompletes required orientation program and unit-specific competencies.
Administers chemotherapy, blood and blood products, fluids, injections and creates individualized care plans on patients under their supervision and care.
Recognizes and treats cancer-related issues.
Recognizes symptoms, establishes priorities and responds to patient’s changing needs.
Verifies and implements orders from physician, physician assistant, and/or advance practice nurse by performing interventions as prescribed by the provider and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record.
Shares information and collaborates with other members of the health care team to promote effective patient care.
Advocates for patients, families, and their significant others, the community, and the nursing profession.
Demonstrates a commitment to UI Health’s values through teamwork and effective communication in an effort to achieve quality outcomes, patient safety customer satisfaction and a clean, safe and therapeutic environment.

interdisciplinary team member who provides quality patient care and fulfills unit and organizational goals.
