We’re seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Millersport, OH, supporting our onsite wellness and safety program for a local construction site. This position offers flexible, as-needed scheduling—perfect for nurses who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy making a direct impact in the field.

About the Role

As a PRN RN, you’ll play a key role in promoting health and safety at the job site. Working collaboratively with the lead nurse and site safety team, you’ll provide first aid, health education, and preventive services to help workers stay safe, healthy, and engaged.

This role is ideal for a nurse who enjoys hands-on, relationship-based work—someone who’s comfortable being visible on site, engaging with workers, and providing approachable, trusted care in an outdoor construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

First Aid & Onsite Safety

  • Assess and provide first aid for occupational injuries or illnesses with accurate documentation

  • Maintain first aid and clinic supplies in clean, organized condition

  • Coordinate emergency response with onsite EMTs or safety personnel

  • Document injuries, prepare reports, and assist with return-to-work assessments

Screenings & Immunizations

  • Provide basic health screenings (BP, height, weight, BMI, body composition)

  • Perform specimen collections for drug and alcohol screenings, as applicable

  • Administer immunizations such as influenza vaccines

Health Promotion

  • Engage employees and leadership in health and wellness initiatives

  • Share educational resources and promote healthy lifestyle habits

  • Lead group activities such as stretch-and-flex programs or brief wellness sessions

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (required)

  • BLS or ACLS certification (required)

  • Excellent clinical judgment and documentation skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs onsite

  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions

Preferred:

  • Experience in occupational health, wellness, or construction environments

  • Venipuncture skills and/or Respiratory FIT testing experience

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate based on experience and qualifications

  • PRN (as-needed) scheduling flexibility

  • All candidates must successfully complete a background check and drug screen

Analyzes patterns of wounds across programs and hospitals, and identifies targeted PI activities to improve wound outcomes and mitigate pressure sore development. Establishes individual programs and courses directed at increasing staff knowledge, competency, and credentials in support of individual job objectives and the overall goals and mission of the organization. Coordinates competency evaluation and testing for professional staff in collaboration with clinical departments. Works in collaboration with Education department to assure coordination of all educational initiatives and activities to support the overall objectives and goals of the department and the organization. Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing and other clinical education programs. Maintains the database to track staff education, competency and credentials and utilizes the database to evaluate and plan for future educational activities and programs. Works under the direction of the Director of Education on nursing education projects and initiatives related to skin, wound and ostomy management. Collaborates with other members of the Education Department on joint educational initiatives. Performs other duties as requested.
