Job Description

Looking for a Nurse Manager for Cardiac Access/Cardiac Observation who is responsible for leading and implementation program that supports care for the adult cardiac patient. The Unit provides care across the cardiac outpatient, extended recovery and inpatient population primarily pre and post procedure. This manager will support orientation and competency assessment of all staff, promote standardized clinical workflow and optimal patient care. The manager evaluates performance, provides feedback and mentors, develop education programs, and contribute to staff professional development. Working closely to advocate for the CAU team with cardiac procedural areas, physicians and patients.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Identifies the clinical and professional development needs of nursing staff, plans and provides education in area of expertise. Develops and provides educational programs and conferences for staff, other departments, and community.
  • Plans and implements quality improvement programs for both clinical education and environment of care. Works with staff to identify interventions needed to successfully implement workflow changes.
  • Reviews patient and staff data to measure the effectiveness of patient care.
  • Works with senior leadership, interdisciplinary teams and other stakeholders in order to develop, implement and evaluate programs and services in align with the system.
  • Addresses issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment.
  • Maintains clinical and non-clinical guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Promotes and maintains safe and clean working environment by designing and implementing procedures, rules, and regulations. Provides assistance from other health care professionals within the system and from regulatory agencies.
  • Protects patients and employees by developing and interpreting infection-control policies and protocols; enforcing medication administration, storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
  • Maintains and works among the health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.


Preferred

  • Master's degree in Nursing or related field.
  • 5 years' experience in clinical, management experience in an ambulatory setting or relevant area.
  • Certification in BLS and valid NJ nursing license.
