Job Summary and Qualifications

Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team of healthcare professionals. In this role you will provide the best possible preventative and supportive intra-operative care to each patient based upon their individual needs and are looking for a team member who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. You will be responsible for the general well-being of the patient during the operative period.
You will act as the patient advocate, reviewing operative permit to ensure correctness of procedure. Functions as a member of the surgical team.
You will supervise care of the OR suite and equipment to ensures cleanliness, sterility, operation and availability of all necessary supplies and equipment and assists in opening sterile supplies.
You will prepare patient physically, mentally, and emotionally for surgical procedure and anticipates patient care needs during the procedure.
You will verify identification of patient according to person, chart, and ID band.
You will maintain awareness of OR schedule to ensure patient flow. Ensure timely turnover of room for next case.
You will assist anesthesia provider as required.
You will document and maintain patient record and chart to ensure an accurate record of medical treatment.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current California Nursing License.
BLS required
A Registered Nurse who has one (1) year of full-time equivalent or more of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse.

Education Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university preferred. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Able to communicate effectively in English. 1 or more years of oncology/hematology experience Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills required Excellent IV skills Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a complex health care environment Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association California Registered Nurse (RN) License Oncology Nursing Society Chemotherapy/ Biotherapy certification preferred or for an experienced oncology RN to obtain within 3 months OCN certification, preferred Physical Demands and Work Conditions Physical Demands Frequent (please list each item under Comments). The work involves considerable exertion such as frequent lifting of patients and equipment, bending and stooping, and walking. The work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions, e.g. working with risk of exposure of contagious disease, radiation or infection, working with emotionally disturbed patients. Precautions are routine for nearly all situations. The employee might be required to use protective clothing or gear. Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $92.64 - $106.87 per hour The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
