Community Healthlink (CHL) is looking for Full-time (37.5 hrs/wk) CSS Nurse Manager in Worcester County. Oversight of one program is Worcester and the other in Leominster.
The North County Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) serves clients who are admitted due to struggle with a mental health crisis often additionally struggling with substance abuse. Our clients enter the program with an evaluation and client history completed by a qualified clinician prior to admission. The CSU may be used as a diversion to prevent a hospitalization or as a step-down immediately following a psychiatric hospital discharge to assist the client in transitioning back into the community. The unit receives admissions 24 hours/day, 365 days/year depending on bed availability (13 beds) for clients who do not need hospital level of care and meet the unit’s admission criteria. Although a voluntary program, individuals must remain on the unit for the duration of their stay for safety and treatment purposes. Clients meet with a multi-disciplinary team to aid with following their individualized treatment plan and meet their treatment goals as well as a psychiatric workup and medication evaluation.

Provides leadership and supervision of nursing personnel to ensure ANA professional nursing standards of practice and code of ethics are followed and exhibited by the nursing team members
Oversight of Medication Opiod Use Disorder (MOUD) protocol across programs
Provides direct nursing care to clients in these programs as needed.
Provides individual supervision and documentation of the discussion for all nurses under their management.
Attends all program related staff meetings and supports nurse attendance at these meetings.
Ensures nursing staff completes all annual required CHL trainings
Ensures nursing team is aware of how to access agency policies and procedures on the HUB. Ensures any updates are reviewed with the team
Identifies educational opportunities for the nursing team and collaborates with staff education to develop and facilitate training sessions as needed
Assists in the development of new policies and procedures as needed to ensure client safety
Collaborates with other nurse leaders in the agency to aide in the development/improvement of nursing care related work flows and protocols
Ensures areas in need of quality improvement are being identified and addressed
Utilizes the Idea System and Lean philosophy towards process improvement, and quality client care
Follows CHL True North and educates nursing team regarding True North
Functions as a member of management team, attending management meetings as required
Actively participates in professional groups and committees within CHL, such as; Nurse Leadership Meeting, Infection Control Committee, CSDPP and others which are of interest that will aid in professional development and collaboration with peers
Responds to all medical and mental health emergencies and assists the medical/clinical team as needed
Develops strong collaborative relationships with members of management team, staff, peers, physicians and other providers in the community
Responsible for management and development of nursing schedules for all care areas supported by this role
Reviews work schedule within Kronos and approves bi-weekly timecard Reviews requests for time off (i.e.vacation/medical leave)
Collaborates with HR as needed
Provides direct nurse care to patients as needed
Acts as a mentor to the nursing team, provides constructive criticism, training as needed and completes annual performance reviews
Uses quality improvement techniques and strategies to implement change and improvements and areas which impact client care
Assists the nursing team in care areas with identifying supply needs and maintaining any medical equipment and supplies
Fosters and supports diverse views and perspectives, demonstrates Standards of Respect with all clients and team members
Assists in maintaining an environment of professionalism, respect, tolerance, civility and acceptance to all clients, team members and visitors
Respects diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients and visitors
Qualifications:
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
Bachelors Degree in nursing is preferred
Minimum of two years' experience in behavioral health/ nursing services
Experience using electronic medical records, MassPAT
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
Must be able to pass a CORI background check
Current valid US-issued driver's license and ability to provide registered, inspected and insured automobile for work related purposes including transporting clients in your own vehicle
