Position Overview:
As an RN Lactation Consultant II, you will provide expert infant feeding support to families through inpatient and outpatient services. Your role involves developing, promoting, and implementing lactation programs, creating educational materials for diverse audiences, and raising awareness about lactation services.
Utilize your clinical expertise in assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation to meet the needs of patients and families. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to advance care plans, achieve positive outcomes, and improve operational efficiency. The role adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics for Nurses.
Shift Details:
- Evening shift, starting at approximately 5:00 PM
- Flexible hours within the evening schedule
- 24 hours per week
Qualifications:
- Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN).
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
- Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
- Requires certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) or be certified within one year of hire.
- Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
- Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
- Requires background working with childbearing families or maternal health nursing.
