Your responsibilities will include:

Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs
Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Brentwood Animal Hospital is looking for a Full-Time Surgery Technician to join our team. We are a small fast paced clinic that does any where between 5 to 9 surgeries a day. You will be working along side the doctor while they perform the surgical procedures as you monitor the patient and administer any injections or fluids the patient will need, along with making sure the patients wake up without problem. Job Summary and Qualifications What You Will Do in This Role: The role of the OR Tech II is to assist the OR team in the care of patients, equipment, and supplies. The OR Tech II in 701 Surgery provides care for birth to pediatric, pediatric/child patients between 1 to 11 years of age; adolescent patients between 12 to 17 years of age; adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older. The surgical technologist in the first scrub role handles the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. The OR Tech II understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. The OR Tech II has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field. When the OR Tech II is in the second scrub role, they assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during the operative procedure by carrying out tasks including sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors and manipulating the endoscopic camera. This role is distinct from that of the first scrub and surgical first assistant. What Qualifications You Will Need: ON CALL First Scrub tech - must be able to scrub independently, without backups. NIGHTS 7pm-7am . Guaranteed 40 hours.
