Position Summary:

Provides health care for residents under the direction of a nurse. Assists patients under their care with day-to-day tasks, playing a vital support role.

Responsibilities:

Answers resident calls and determines how best to help them. Provides physical support for residents with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing or exercising.
Turns and repositions bedridden patients.
Ensures residents receive appropriate diet by reviewing their dietary restrictions, food allergies, and preferences. Provides encouragement and support with eating.
Delivers compassionate support, attention, and assistance to residents and families.
Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Required:

High School Diploma/GED Equivalent
Current State Certified Nursing Assistant.

Department: Intensive Care Step Down (5W) Daily Work Times: 7a- 7p Shift: Days Scheduled Bi-Weekly Hours: 72 Under the supervision of a registered nurse, responsible for providing support to nursing staff and assisting in the delivery of patient care following patient care plan and hospital policies and procedures Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Provides routine patient care services such as call light response; ambulating, transferring, and positioning; personal hygiene assistance, prescribed bowel and bladder program assistance, etc. Collects, records, and reports various patient data. Reports changes in patient condition. Performs surgical skin preps, basic skin care procedures, bedside finger stick blood sugars, and quality control checks of blood glucose instruments.
