Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations. 2. Assists in investigating and reporting hospital-acquired infections. 3. Promotes system wide participation in the infection control program. 4. Acts as a resource for infection control questions from physicians and hospital staffs. 5. Collect, analyze and report infection control information and results throughout medical staff and hospital committee structures. 6. Assist with other Quality Improvement processes and Risk Management issues. 7. Coordinates Quality Improvement studies as directed. 8. Assists to prepare and maintain policies and procedures related to Infection Control, which insure hospital’s compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies. 9. Presents orientation and in-service programs for hospital staff. 10. Serves as member of hospital committees as assigned: Safety Committee, Infection Prevention, Education Committee, P&T Committee, Valve Analysis and others as needed. 11. Serves as a resource to other EMC entities for infection control and related issues. 12. Administer immunizations to staff and/or patients, as needed. 13. Support the Magnet culture by coordinating nursing quality programs related to hand hygiene and other pertinent infection prevention practices. 14. In collaboration with Medical Director of Infectious Disease and Epidemiologist drafts the annual Infection Control Plan and Report to be approved at the Infection Control Committee. 15. Performs other duties as assigned.
