Rutgers University Correctional Health Care is seeking a Per Diem Staff Nurse for the Adult Diagnostic Treatment Center, located in Avenel, NJ. The UCHC Staff Nurse utilizes the nursing process to meet a variety of health care needs with ambulatory care as a primary focus; works with a variety of health care professionals and security officers in a correctional environment; frequently functions guided by nursing protocols; and functions as a team leader as assigned.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Provides direct and indirect nursing care to meet physiological, psychosocial and emotional needs of the inmatepatient including adults (18 to 64 years), and geriatrics (65+) and their family within the framework established by the correctional system.
  • Utilizes effective communication skills by demonstrating respect, concern and courtesy in all interpersonal relationships.
  • Attends appropriate in-services and continuing education offerings to obtain and maintain necessary skills.
  • Participates in offering education to inmates, security officers and other members of the health care team.
  • Participates in in-service meetings and educational programs either as attendee or as a teacher, as arranged and approved by supervisor.

Penn Medicine Princeton Health (PMPH) is seeking a per diem RN (Registered Nurse) to work the evening shift within Princeton House Behavioral Health (PHBH). This position is within Behavioral Health Float. The RN will be floated to multiple units. Our inpatient psychiatric services provide short-term stabilization and treatment for mental health disorders. We provide care in a secure calm environment where patients can focus on healing. Daily psychiatrist visits and around-the-clock medical supervision help patients on their journey to better mental health. Location: Princeton House Behavioral Health (905 Herrontown Road Princeton NJ). Key Roles and Responsibilities: Develops and maintains a plan of nursing care based on goals derived from identified needs; revises the patients individualized plan of care as indicated Implements individualized nursing plan of care, consistent with established policies, procedures, and protocols Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing care, and participates in evaluating and improving the delivery of care on the unit Demonstrates accuracy in entering medication orders on the computer and medication administration Provides appropriate coordination of care and intervention to patients undergoing a psychiatric or medical emergency Scheduling Requirements (Tier 2): The night shift is considered 3pm-11pm. Work a minimum of four shifts, including one weekend per 4-week schedule (Consecutive Saturday/Sunday). Two holidays per year (1 minor and 1 major). One difficult to staff days per year. What We Require for this Role: Education Bachelor’s degree required, or in pursuit of Related Work Experience 15 months of RN experience required Psych experience preferred.
