Medicine | Emergency MedicinePhysician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner position in the Department of Emergency Medicine to provide direct health care to patients in the emergency departments of the medical center with an emphasis on urgent care level of acuity; works in collaboration with Emergency Medicine physicians in providing comprehensive emergency care to patients presenting to the emergency departments of OSUMC or East; works under the on-site supervision of a practicing licensed physician; performs services independently that are authorized and directed by supervising physician; performs health assessments, histories and physical examinations; orders diagnostic testing and interprets results; reviews & assesses patient medications; prescribes and evaluates drugs & other treatments; interprets health data variations and risk factors; performs approved indicated procedures. 50% or more of hours worked will occur during evening or weekend hours.
85% - Provides direct medical care delivery; performs health assessments, histories and physical examinations; orders diagnostic testing and interprets results; performs approved indicated procedures; reviews and assesses patient medications; prescribes and evaluates drugs and other treatments; interprets health data variations and risk factors; participates in managing overall patient care.
10% - Participates in review and revision of policies, procedures, and standards of care and ensures maintenance; interprets policies and procedures to patients, visitors, and staff; ensures patient confidentiality.
5% - Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's of Science Degree or DNP in Nursing or Master's in Physician Assistant Science. APRN License with Certification as an NP or PA-C. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred
