Elderwood at Liverpool is searching for a charismatic, compassionate, and organized part time night shift Registered Nurse Supervisor (RN) to aide our busy 160 bed Skilled Nursing facility in Liverpool, NY. We wrapping up a massive renovation to update our facility including investing in new state of the art equipment and iPads for our nursing staff!

Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN) - Nursing Supervisor:

  • Responsible for responding immediately to residents’ requests.
  • Supervise nursing care services and staff on all units while on duty.
  • Actively promotes facility safety programs.
  • May assume responsibility as the Infection Preventionist Nurse.
  • Assume responsibility for nursing services in the absence of the Assistant Director of Nursing Services and/or Director of Nursing Services.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Skills/Competencies:

Nursing Supervisor (RN) duties:

The Night Shift Supervisor (RN) will assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by being responsible for nursing care rendered at facility during evening shifts; supervision of nursing personnel of each unit; and other corollary duties assigned by the Director Nursing Services. The RN Supervisor is schedule minimally 37.5 hours a week which is one shift during the week and every other weekend. Every other holiday.  This position is full time on our night shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) - Nursing Supervisor:

  • Possession of a state license in applicable state you are performing work and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience and at least one (1) year of experience in a nursing leadership role
  • At least one year of experience as a Unit Manager, or Charge Nurse preferably in geriatric nursing required. 
  • Current BLS/CPR.
  • Ability to supervise and discipline staff and ensure that high standards of care are maintained as necessary.
  • Ability to utilize creative problem-solving and handle problems diplomatically necessary.
  • Experience with dementia population desirable.

This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
