As a level 3 facility the Emergency Center is equipped to manage chest pain, minor and major trauma, hemorrhage, acute medical illness, drug overdose/ substance abuse, psychiatric, neurological. The Beaumont Grosse Pointe serves over 52,000 patients annually. The EC provides comprehensive emergency treatment/ care to all patients of all ages.

Scope of work

The RN, under the ANA scope of practice utilizes the framework of the nursing process to provide professional nursing care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and discharge. The RN provides quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader according to Corewell Health policies and procedures and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN partners with and utilizes patient/family input and goals in planning plan of care and develops teaching strategies for patient/family; documents education and learning appropriately in health record.

Qualifications

Associates or Diploma in Nursing Required
Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years if new graduate/nurse with less than one (1) year experience
Graduates from a non-accredited school of nursing must have at least one year of acute care experience or at least two years of experience in a licensed health care role and must have successfully passed the NCLEX licensure examination
MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire/transfer from one of the following organizations - American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Canadian Heart and Stroke.
ACLS within 6 months of hire/transfer. TNCC within 1 year of hire/transfer. ENPC within 15 months of hire/transfer

About the Unit The Cardiac Cath Lab at Farmington Hills supports procedural labs and pre and post-procedure bays. As the referral center for the surrounding communities, we see and treat both elective and emergent patients with cardiac and vascular conditions. Utilizing the most up to date technology and supplies, the lab performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures, while specializing in high risk angioplasty with the use of heart support devices. Our Chronic Care floor is a 60 bed Medicare/Rehabilitation and long-term care unit and is a great place to learn basic med-surg, I.V. therapy & wound treatments nursing skills. Nurses on this unit along with host of healthcare professionals work to provide and implement the best treatment plan for residents. This fast paced and busy unit provide a great atmosphere for PT/OT residents to be motivated and reach their goals. Our Dementia Care floor is a 60 bed Medicare/Medicaid/Dementia unit. We provide care to residents with a variety of diagnoses. The dementia care is where we create a fullness of life through the joy of relationships, the art of caring and the spirit of living. This unit also works closely with a multidisciplinary team meets and discusses the resident’s plan of care. About the Facility Beaumont Commons – Farmington Hills Our facility has 3 floors and 9 unit (3 units per floor), we are able to provide care for long term care residents and post-acute rehab patients. The first floor has 59 beds with a focus on sub-acute rehab, the second floor has 59 beds which focuses on long-term care and sub-acute rehab and our third floor is a secured dementia unit. Nurse-patient ratios vary depending on the shift and the population you will be serving. We care for dementia residents, long term care and sub-acute rehab residents. With 179 beds, we accept but not limited to patient specialties, such as general rehab, neuro rehab, cardiac, respiratory and cancer. We also have various programs for residents to participate in multiple activities. Our goal is to create a Fullness of Life through the joy of relationships, the art of caring and the spirit of living. Scope of work Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
