RN/ Registered Nurse Requirements:

  • Currently holds an active RN license to work in New York.

RN Nursing Supervisor performs responsible supervisory and professional work in directing and coordinating all nursing units. The individual must have had advanced training and broad nursing experience including supervisory duties. RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1 Verifies daily staffing and redistribution, as necessary. 2 Collaborates with all charge nurses daily, to exchange information regarding resident care, resident condition and all matters affecting resident well-being (i.e. admissions, discharges, transfers, out of or within the building), makes recommendations regarding nursing process, and communicates concerns to supervisors of other departments. 3 Makes rounds, morning and night, as time allows, to assess residents condition, giving special attention to critically ill residents. 4 Ensures that the individual nursing care plan is followed for each resident. 5 Performs medication passes and/or direct resident care as needed. 6 Participates in resident care committee meetings. 7 Reinforces the training and orientation of nursing personnel and provides positive reinforcement. 8 Answers any/all emergencies throughout the shift (i.e., change of resident condition or pronouncement of death). 9 Assists in assuring a safe and sanitary environment for residents, employees, and visitors. 10 Assures that the building is secure during the evening and night hours by checking doors and alarms according to nursing facility protocols. 11 Reviews incident and investigative reports for accuracy and completeness. 12 Monitors meal service on the units and in the dining areas to identify issues requiring intervention and to assure resident meal satisfaction and nutritional adequacy. 13 Assists in development and implementation of nursing facility Quality Improvement Program. 14 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights. 15 Performs other duties as requested.
