JOB PURPOSE: As part of PruittHealth’s (PH) top initiatives, a new division of Personal Care Services (PCS), PH Family First, is being piloted metro Atlanta market. PH Family First is looking to hire a PCA to join a winning team, to assist the patient and caregiver with personal hygiene needs to increase the level of comfort to the patient. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide optimal comfort care, dignity and privacy for the patient • Obtain vital signs of patient(s) assigned • Follow procedures for handling medical emergencies or other incidents that affect the delivery of services • Report patient progress and problems to supervisory personnel • Observe and report any changes in condition, including skin integrity • Provide comfort care, companion, shopping/errands, meal prepping and related tasks, housekeeping, appointment scheduling, medication reminders services • Assist with patient transfer, ambulation, and exercise • Provide personal hygiene to patient(s), including bathing, shaving, oral hygiene, skin care, dressing, toileting, and hair care • Maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for the patient • Coordinate care with agency RN Supervisor • Maintain accurate and current records of visits • Perform all other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: • Attend a minimum of 12 hours of annual in-service education and provide documentation to the agency • Attend team meetings and staff development in-services and trainings • Communicate well with patient and family members. Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 45 days, and Nurse Aide in good standing as indicated with the State Registry in which the team member practices. Completes various errands as directed including pick-up and delivery of trays, charts, specimens, and reports. Maintains and orders stock for nursing area. Cleans equipment and work areas. Performs various patient positioning and transporting duties which require lifting and pushing/pulling while utilizing proper technique and assistive devices. Performs tasks related to nutritional needs of patient under direction of RN to include diet review, tray set up/removal, proper positioning and diet selection. Performs tasks related to maintaining skin integrity to include proper repositioning and skin care. Ensures special patient supplies and appliances are provided and maintained such as TED hose and sequential compression devices.
