This full-semester, contract position calls for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide one-on-one, onsite nursing support to a medically fragile student in a school setting. The role is located in Elk River, MN, and involves working approximately 31 hours per week.
Responsibilities include delivering skilled nursing care tailored to the student's complex medical needs. This includes tracheostomy care, management of ventilators, J-tube feedings, ostomy care, and administration of nasally delivered seizure medications. The student is wheelchair-bound, has adrenal insufficiency, and requires continuous G-J tube feedings as well as respiratory support including nebulizer treatments. Accurate monitoring and timely interventions to manage seizure activity and respiratory issues are essential. In addition, ostomy care will be needed as necessary to maintain health and comfort.
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Active CPR/BLS certification
- Proven experience with pediatric tracheostomy care
- Previous pediatric nursing experience is highly preferred
