Job Description

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more. The total working hours will be spent making pre-op phone calls to patients.

Principal Accountabilities

Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
Provides instructions for assistive medical devices and related treatments.
Reports and records any changes in patient conditions.
Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
Records patient medical information.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
BLS certification.

Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.
Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
1+ year of experience in surgery center, procedural or critical care Nursing.
ACLS certification.

Participates in related audit preparation and facilitation, including FDA, IRB and related internal and external monitors and auditors. Evaluates disease response results and physical assessment data, in conjunction with PI, to determine response per protocol. Collaborates with PI to organize all phases of grant process for submission to funding agencies and to ensure adherence to clinical trial agreement/ study budgets. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions. Job Qualification Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date. Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
