Job Summary
Represents Prisma Health and its workers with work related injury and illness by triaging and managing the injured employee’s care. Provides clinical support in the care of work-related injury and illness and assists as needed in other occupational health nursing functions in the clinic.Essential Functions

Triages injured and ill workers. Assists in the care of injured and ill workers.
Facilitates referrals and related authorizations for testing, specialists and related treatment for injured employees.
Works closely with adjuster to bring claims to closure timely and cost-effectively. Promptly notifies supervisor of suspected WC fraud or abuse.
Maintains OSHA log and annual summary.
Acts as a liaison to Prisma Health leaders, carrier, injured workers and other interested parties, as appropriate, on medical issues.
Provides timely communication with injured workers’ supervisor regarding case progress. When possible, facilitates transitional duty assignments for injured workers.
Maintains complete and accurate workers compensation patient charts. Performs accurate and timely record keeping including data entry.
As needed, provides back up nursing support for other areas of clinic (pre-placement, annual testing, immunizations, etc.)
Performs other duties as assigned.
Supervisory/Management Responsibilities
This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing program and approved by the State Board of Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience - Three (3) years Nursing practice

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.
BLS Certification
Case management certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Assessment skills
Knowledge of workers’ compensation and occupational health - Preferred.
