RN METSJob Description
RN in METS & Cardiac Diagnostics provides evaluation, treatment and education for patients with cardiopulmonary and metabolic disease through the Health Center’s cardiopulmonary rehabilitation programs. Performs cardiac stress testing, including pharmacologic testing and responds to all department emergencies.

Pay: Based on experience, starting at $32.10
Responsibilities
Assessment- Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data. , Assists physician with pharmacological stress testing by calculating medication dosage and preparing and administering medication, monitoring patient’s medical status, and giving emergency medications/performing ACLS as needed. , Assists physician with pharmacological stress testing by calculating medication dosage and preparing and administering medication, monitoring patient’s medical status, and giving emergency medications/performing ACLS as needed. , Communicates with patient’s physicians regarding changes inpatient’s medical status, provides treatment, and executes orders. Updates physicians regarding patient’s status through monthly written progress reports and phone calls as needed. , Coordination of Care- Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients., Diagnosis - Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues., Evaluation- Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes. Reports data and outcomes to as appropriate to physician and/or other disciplines., Implementation - Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards., Knowledge - In collaboration with Leader/Director, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the unit, unit based in-service programs, reading current literature and seeking new clinical learning opportunities. , Outcomes Identification - Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation., Performs cardiac stress testing, including documentation of history and medications, assessing vitals during testing, and performing ACLS during emergency situations. , Performs cardiac stress testing, including documentation of history and medications, assessing vitals during testing, and performing ACLS during emergency situations. , Performs initial assessment and orientation for rehabilitation patients including evaluation of patient status and readiness to begin rehab. Includes application of knowledge of contraindications to exercise, medical and surgical history as pertinent to exercise, readiness to learn, behavior and risk factor assessment and evaluation of pertinent laboratory tests and other procedures., Planning - Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes., Provides nursing supervision for Phase II and Phase III Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation classes, including monitoring patient’s medical status, leading exercise, educating patients, and responding to medical incidents/emergencies. , Relationships - Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team.
