The Thomson-Hood Veterans Center is a 285-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Wilmore, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care.

We are currently seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to work in our nursing department as a Charge Nurse (Infection Control and Preventionist).

Skill and expectations for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Experience in infection control and data collection including keeping employee vaccine records current, tracks and reports on resident infections and analyzes for trends and patterns.
  • Leads Investigations of possible incidences of infection and implements infection control policy accurately.
  • Organizes and works with staff development coordinator to facilitate scheduled training and in services with staff to educate on infection control policy and procedures.
  • Organizes and facilitates infection meetings quarterly and interprets reports to committee.
