Schedule:

  • FT/PT/PRN: 630p - 7a w/ rotating weekends

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Assist the Registered Nurse in delivering quality nursing services to persons supported
  • Provide health related training to unlicensed personnel
  • Administer medications and treatments or assist the person supported with medication administration
  • Assist with ensuring preventative and routine medical appointments are scheduled
  • Conduct medication closest assessments
  • Collect health related data
  • Observe for and report any abnormal health related findings to the physician
  • Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team
  • Advocate for the people supported and assist with developing community supports to promote optimal health for the people supported

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited licensed nurse program
  • Current nursing license with no restrictions to practice nursing.
  • Current CPR Certification or eligibility to obtain certification
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Interdisciplinary Team Members, as well as the people supported and their families
  • Must be able to work independently, be organized, and possess the ability to prioritize work tasks

Physical requirements include: ability to regularly lift 20 pounds. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds. Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 pounds. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to communicate.

Performs nursing functions and consumer care at a Facility Based Crisis Center including assessment, care, and treatment of clients at the facility; must adhere to standards of care as defined by the Nurse Practice Act and RHA. This position relies on knowledge, experience, and judgment with limited supervision and direction to provide quality services to crisis facility clients. The Facility Based Crisis (FBC) Center is a community-based facility that serves as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization when appropriate. The FBC is a facility operating 24/7/365 for adults aged 18 and over experiencing behavioral, emotional, psychological, detox, or other acute crisis stabilization needs. The FBC provides short-term intensive evaluation, treatment intervention or behavioral management to stabilize acute or crisis situations: Assessment and evaluation Intensive treatment and stabilization Linkage to services that will provide further treatment or rehabilitation upon release.
