Position Overview:

The Weekend Supervisor is responsible for directing the entire operation of a nursing unit in a long-term community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general management functions such as hiring, disciplining, and evaluating care team members.

  • Plan and facilitate meetings and committees to address resident care issues/concerns for the unit.

  • Manage area of responsibility with the goal of achieving and maintaining the highest quality of care possible.

  • Participate in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs that promote the recruitment, retention, development, and continuing education of nursing staff members.

  • Contact physicians as needed/necessary and ensure physician interventions are timely and appropriate.

  • Review staffing patterns and census of nursing units and reassign personnel when necessary to ensure staffing meets resident needs and budgetary controls.

  • Monitor the clinical operations of the unit and resident’s conditions and ensure that appropriate and quality care is administered.

  • Obtain medications, supplies and medical records needed to provide safe, efficient, and therapeutic are to residents on a continuing basis.

  • Assist in the orientation of new personnel, monitoring their skills and guides and observe care team members that may need assistance with procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

  • Licensed as an RN in the state employed; license must be active, valid, and in good standing.

  • Valid CPR teaching certificate preferred, but not required.

  • Must hold an active CPR license or the ability to obtain within the first 30-days of employment. CPR license must be kept active and current throughout employment.

  • Three years of nursing experience, of which one year in a long-term care environment.

CTL is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic planning of nursing and ancillary services within the medical department including, but not limited to, personnel, maintaining budgets, coordinating off-site services, and navigating operations regarding pharmacy, medical services, and mental health services. Clinical Team Leader Responsibilities: Staff Development and Management: CTL will assure quality and standards of care by demonstrating QCC’s core values in every interaction with patients, clients, and team members. Create a positive work environment by encouraging professional growth, communication, and transparency with nursing and support staff. Assist and support in all human resource functions by recruiting, hiring, orienting, and training. CTL is responsible for developing and leading a team by providing ongoing leadership, supervision, and feedback with all staff, including weekly touchpoints, coaching, counseling, and disciplining. Coordinate and complete monthly schedules. If gaps are present in the schedule, identify and implement strategies to fill them effectively. Administrative/Clinical Functions: Oversee medical operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing QCC’s policies and procedures Coordinate and collaborate with medical provider and mental health provider for scheduling, referrals, and treatment plans. Oversee and maintain supplies and ordering including medications, medical supplies, and patient care equipment. Achieve financial objectives by managing budgets regarding staffing, pharmacy, and ordering. Complete and submit administrative reports in a timely manner. Participate in continuous quality improvement audits, sentinel event reviews, and other meetings by providing recommendations for improvements, when needed.
