School Registered Nurse | San Rafael, California

A full-time Registered Nurse position is available to support an upper elementary student with special needs in a non-public school setting. This contracted role requires dedication to providing comprehensive 1:1 nursing care throughout the school day, including transportation to and from school. Located in Rohnert Park, CA, this opportunity offers a consistent schedule of approximately 35 hours per week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday with 8-hour shifts, and a shorter Wednesday shift of 5.5 hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care, including diabetic management, to the assigned student.
  • Accompany and assist the student during transportation to and from school.
  • Collaborate independently to ensure the students health and safety, as no supervision will be provided.
  • Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with school staff and family members.
  • Comply with all school and district regulations, including fingerprinting and other onboarding requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid California RN license is required.
  • Experience with pediatric nursing, particularly in school or special needs environments, is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage healthcare needs within the school environment.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with diabetic care and management in children.

Location & Schedule:

  • Position based in Rohnert Park, California.
  • Full school year contract starting ASAP through the end of the school year.
  • Typical hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday from approximately 7:45 AM - 3:45 PM; Wednesday 7:45 AM - 1:15 PM.
