A full-time Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to support an upper elementary student with special needs in a school setting located in Rohnert Park, CA. This contract position spans the full school year and involves providing dedicated 1:1 nursing care with a focus on diabetic management and daily health support. The role includes accompanying the student during transportation to and from school as well as throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care tailored to the students medical and educational needs
- Monitor and manage diabetic care, including glucose monitoring and insulin administration
- Support the student throughout the school day, ensuring safety and well-being
- Collaborate with school staff to maintain a supportive and responsive care environment
- Function independently without on-site supervision from paraprofessionals or other nursing staff
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for the state of California required
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing, especially with students who have complex medical needs
- Ability to manage medical needs independently in a school setting
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with school personnel
Work Schedule and Location:
- Located in Rohnert Park, CA (serving a student who currently attends a non-public school in Marin County)
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8-hour shifts (approximately 7:45 AM to 3:45 PM)
- Wednesday: 5.5-hour shift (approximately 7:45 AM to 1:15 PM)
- 35 hours per week total
