Department: Catheterization Lab
Shift/Status: Full Time, 40 hours per week
Schedule: Day Shift, Monday - Friday (7:30am -4:00pm or 8:00am – 4:30pm – position requires some flexibility as the department continues to grow), and call requirement of approximately 10 days per month (evening and weekend call) with a 30 minute response time.
Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) Department
Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) Registered Nurses (RN) play a pivotal role in the Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) assisting with diagnostic heart procedures. The Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) Registered Nurse (RN) duties may include but are not limited to: preparing and monitoring patients during procedures, administer medications and sedation, assisting physicians during procedures (like angiograms, stent placements, left/right heart catheters, cardioversions, venous pacemaker wire implant insertions and transesophageal echocardiograms - TEE’s), monitor vital signs and heart rhythms, manage sterile technique and equipment, and provide post-procedure care and patient education. The ideal Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) Registered Nurse (RN) would have previous Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) and/or Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse (RN) experience. Baylor Scott & White Pflugerville currently features 50 inpatient beds between two Main Nursing Units which function as blended units with three levels of acuity and operates from a multidisciplinary approach in providing the highest standards of nursing care to patients and families. The facility also offers 24/7 emergency services (a 16-bed Emergency Department) and surgical services (offering adult and pediatric surgeries).
Baylor Scott & White – Pflugerville has recently experienced growth. The facility opened a brand-new heart catheterization lab for minimally invasive procedures, increased imaging options including nuclear medicine, doubling inpatient beds, added emergency and trauma services and improvements to operating room capabilities. As Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Pflugerville is a new and growing medical center, the health system is continuously working to create new services to provide to members of this community.

Registered Nurse (RN) Requirements
· Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
· License/Certification
· RN – Registered Nurse
· BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
