Job Summary and Qualifications

What you will do in this role:

You will be responsible for coordinating the nursing care of assigned patients in the Unit in order to provide quality patient care.
You will be responsible for knowledge and skill necessary to provide care based on physical, psychological, educational, safety and related criteria for the appropriate age populations.
You will provide professional nursing care exercising independent judgment in utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate.
You will provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

What qualifications you will need:

Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an Associates or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date).
American Heart Association BLS Certification is required.
1-year of clinical Med Surg experience as a licensed RN in an acute care setting required - [Medical Surgical, Telemetry, Cardiac]

The Oncology Clinic Nurse Manager (RN) will work in conjunction with, and by the direction of, the Director of Nursing Services and also with the Regional Executive Director, if applicable, to provide nursing support for operations to existing practice locations and newly acquired practices by consulting and advising clinicians on best-practices, implementing of/providing education and training programs, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities: Ensure clinical operations and practice consistent with organizational objectives Collaborates with practice management to provide support on operational projects such as site Quality Committees, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative site assessments, Advancing Care Information, the Oncology Care Model (OCM), and other special projects as assigned. Facilitates the implementation and/or utilization of outcomes data and evidence-based practices Facilitates implementation of standardized best practices within the organization. Ensures practice standards of care are consistent with community standards of care. Ensures the incorporation of clinical evidence into existing and newly developed standards. Staff DevelopmentAssess staffing levels and issues, patient flow, current practices in the clinical setting. Assists with the development of company-wide clinical competency testing and skills validation programs. Demonstrates working knowledge of applicable labor laws and schedules and coordinates employee staffing including vacations, sick leave and overtime. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN or MSN preferred RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state. Current BLS certification required. Minimum of five (5) years actively practicing as a registered nurse, including at least three years oncology experience.
