Registered Nurse School Setting - Saint Charles, IL

A part-time Registered Nurse (RN) is needed to provide specialized support in an early childhood educational setting. This contract position is based in Dekalb, IL, serving a preschool-aged student on a 1:1 basis. The role requires working four and a half hours per day, Monday through Thursday, totaling 18 hours per week, with no Friday commitments.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing nursing care to a preschool student with tracheostomy and ventilator needs
• Escorting the student via bus from home to the preschool facility, requiring walking between designated locations
• Collaborating with district-assigned support personnel including para-professionals, Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) for supervision and assistance
• Maintaining compliance with all relevant health and safety protocols within the educational environment

Qualifications:

• Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license; Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) will not be considered
• Experience providing care for pediatric patients, particularly those with tracheostomy and ventilator support
• Ability to manage 1:1 caseload in a preschool setting with transportation as part of responsibilities
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with educational staff and families

Additional Details:

• Assignment covers early childhood school with one school assigned
• The position starts as soon as possible and runs through the Extended School Year (ESY)
