Responsible for the coordination of departmental clinical operations, up to and including scrubbing and circulating cases in assigned service line. In conjunction with WakeMed schedulers, coordinates surgery scheduling to facilitate timely patient flow throughout the department. When in charge nurse role in surgery, delegates patient care to appropriate personnel by making assignments based on needs, abilities, and expertise. Serves as departmental resource and liaison for clinical information technology systems. This includes providing departmental training, building physician resource maps, assisting with department and system-wide information system initiatives, and collecting and analyzing necessary statistical data for the department. National Certification in Nursing Preferred
