Job Summary and Qualifications

The RN is responsible for decisions and actions within the domain of nursing practice. Important aspects of this responsibility are the promotion of a safe and therapeutic environment for both the recipients and providers of nursing care; acquisition of specialized knowledge skills and additional formal education to provide specialized care; demonstration and validation of competence in nursing practice; clinical practice consistent with the policies, procedures and standards of this facility; and supervision of other staff as designated within the department. 

What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (RN) Registered Nurse
  • Neonate Resuscitate, or Neonatal Resuscitation Program, or Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • PALS preferred within 6 months 
  • Texas State RN license or compact license required
  • ADN required; BSN preferred
  • SpecialtyCertification Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) ispreferred.Must successfully complete AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring Course within 1 year of hire or provide documentation of completion of the AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course or the AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring Course.
  • 2 years of recent Labor and Delivery nursing experience preferred
