Wage Range: $48.21- $87.11 per hour

Bonus available for those new to EvergreenHealth: Up to $10,000 with 2+ years of current Labor & Delivery or Postpartum experience; up to $15,000 with 3+ years of current Labor & Delivery or Postpartum experience

This job posting is open to GYN/Postpartum, Antepartum, or Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses who have competencies in Labor & Delivery, Antepartum, as well as Postpartum.

Job Summary: 
 The RN is responsible for the total direct nursing care of all patients within established standards of care, hospital and unit policies, procedures, and guidelines.
The Obstetrical Flex Registered Nurse on the Family Maternity Center is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to perinatal patients, encompassing labor & delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and gynecologic care. Operating within established standards of care, hospital protocols, and unit policies, the role requires adeptness in assessing patient needs throughout the perinatal journey, including neonatal care. As a representative of our Baby Friendly organization, the nurse prioritizes keeping patients and their neonates together, demonstrating proficiency in managing neonatal care alongside adult patient care. This position is self-scheduling.

Primary Duties:
  1. Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  2. Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  3. Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process. 
  4. Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process. 
  5. Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care. 
  6. Effectively communicates all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way. 
  7. Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician. 
  8. Accountable for following the guidelines for attendance, punctuality, and overall dependability.
  9. Accountable for effective performance and follow-through of all assigned responsibilities and for completing responsibilities within designated (or agreed upon) timeframes. Completes responsibilities in a manner consistent with organizational policy, goals, and values. 
  10. Responsible for the "Accountabilities" associated with this position in support of the organization. 
  11.  Performs other duties as assigned. 
License, Certification, Education or Experience:  
REQUIRED for the position: 
  • Graduate of a nursing program (Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington 
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire 
  • NRP certification within 4 weeks of hire 
  • 1 year of Labor & Delivery Experience
  • 1 year of Postpartum Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
