Registered Nurse Respiratory Manager (RN)

Position Summary
Louisville Gardens is seeking an experienced and motivated RN Respiratory Manager to lead and oversee all respiratory care services, including ventilator management, within our skilled nursing facility. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care, regulatory compliance, staff education, and the successful operation of our respiratory and ventilator programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee all respiratory care services, including ventilator-dependent resident care
Provide clinical leadership and support to Respiratory Therapists and nursing staff
Develop, implement, and monitor respiratory care plans in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations related to respiratory and ventilator care
Monitor ventilator protocols, equipment functionality, alarms, and emergency preparedness
Lead respiratory-related quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
Provide education, training, and competency validation for nursing and respiratory staff
Participate in admissions, care conferences, and discharge planning for residents with respiratory needs
Serve as a clinical resource during respiratory emergencies and complex cases
Maintain accurate documentation and reporting related to respiratory outcomes and services
Leadership Responsibilities
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and coaching of respiratory staff
Support staffing coordination and scheduling for respiratory services
Promote a positive culture focused on clinical excellence, teamwork, and retention
Support survey readiness and regulatory inspections
Qualifications
Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio
Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in respiratory care, ventilator management, critical care, or skilled nursing
Leadership or management experience preferred
Strong knowledge of ventilator-dependent resident care and respiratory equipment
Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a ventilator unit or LTACH setting
ACLS certification preferred
Familiarity with CMS and long-term care regulatory standards
