Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department, ensuring high-quality, resident-centered care in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations

Key Duties & Responsibilities

· Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating daily nursing operations

· Coordinate nursing services with other departments to ensure continuity of resident care

· Participate in state and federal surveys and inspections as requested

· Assist with discharge planning in collaboration with the Discharge Planning Coordinator

· Serve on the Quality Assurance and Assessment Committee as directed

· Review nursing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with care plans

· Monitor medication passes and treatments for accuracy and timeliness; report medication errors promptly

· Provide direct nursing care as needed

· Ensure care delivered reflects resident preferences, rights, and wishes

· Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

· Previous supervisory experience in a nursing facility, or healthcare setting preferred
